Antiques have been a lifelong passion for Sue Clary, who learned the business inside and out from her parents Marilyn and Don Chambers, former owners of O'Wagon Antiques in Greenwich. She her old partner and friend Donna Orlyk began as an ebay business, selling antiques under the name salemgrayman. As their business grew, they were inspired to include a retail shop which could also highlight and support the incredible artistic community in which they live. When contemplating a location for their shop, they looked no further than the Clary's backyard and a 200 year old barn that needed a lot of work. The restoration of the barn was been a labor of love, mainly by Sue's husband Bill Clary. Capturing the feel that Sue wanted for their shop, Bill was able to preserve the original characteristics of the barn while integrating modern touches throughout. Surrounding the barn is the work of Dan Chambers, who salvaged the original marble from the barn foundation and put it to use building patios, benches, and walls. The shop is located at 23 East Broadway in Salem, NY. The regular hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11am to 4pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am to 7pm. | |||||||||
